OUR MISSION

My name is Steve Cathey, I am a graduate of Abilene High School Class of 1997. I am wanting to organize a 5K run/walk that will raise money for Abilene High School Athletics. This is the best way I know for myself and my family to give back to Abilene Schools. Over the last few years I have been involved with several running events and feel this is a positive event that the whole family can be a part of. I will be reaching out to several Abilene coaches for their support for this event. (Football, Track, Cross Country, Cheer). We will need several volunteers along the route to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone, and also keep the event an upbeat enjoyable experience. Our first year, the money raised after expenses was be donated to the Abilene football stadium/track project. I plan to make this an annual event that people look forward to attending.
I have had several sponsors reach out to me that are wanting to be a part of this event. We will have 3 different sponsor levels for the event and all of them will be on the Race shirts. Sponsor Levels Bronze ($100-$299), Silver ($300-$499) and Gold ($500 or more). The race will be a timed event by Red Dirt Race Management from Manhattan, Kansas All Registered runners and walkers will receive a Custom T-shirt, Race Bib, and Finisher’s Medal. |
